Grafren Graphene-Coated Fabric Installation Featured at Tom Tits Experiment Museum

June 10, 2026

Grafren AB has announced that a world-unique installation based on its graphene-coated fabrics is now on display at the Tom Tits Experiment Museum in Södertälje, Sweden.

The installation demonstrates the unique optical and thermal properties of graphene-enabled textiles through interactive exhibits. One exhibit presents an "invisible visible painting" in which images created by heat remain invisible to the naked eye but become visible in the infrared spectrum when viewed with a thermal camera. Another exhibit demonstrates how graphene-coated fabric can shield and conceal warm objects, including the human body, from infrared imaging systems.

The technology behind the exhibits is based on graphene nanomaterials and textile integration methods developed by Grafren. The research and development work was carried out over nearly ten years by the Grafren research team, including Dr. Mykhailo Zhybak and Dr. Erik Khranovskyy.

In parallel with the museum installation, Grafren’s electrically heated textile technology is being supplied to the Swedish company Coxa Carry for commercial deployment, product development, and market introduction.

The development of the graphene-coated fabrics was supported by SIO Grafen, Sweden’s strategic innovation programme funded by Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency, and Formas. SIO Grafen supports the adoption and commercialization of graphene and other two-dimensional materials by Swedish industry.
