Grafren AB got granted their first patent on separation of graphene and 2D materials flakes. The patent called “Method for redistributing flake material into at least two flake size fractions” was granted the 16th of February 2021 with Erik Khranovskyy and Mykhailo Zhybak as inventors. The method allows separation of graphene and other 2D materials flakes in the liquid dispersion, depending on the flakes dimensions (lateral size and thickness). The technology is crucial for large scale production of high quality graphene and other 2D materials and allows efficient separation of flakes at lower energy, time and workload expenses. The method can also be used by large volume users of graphene for securing of incoming graphene quality. Respective PCT application is filed for global IP protection.
